Light plane crashes in Kenya, no casualties reported

NAROK, Kenya, June 1 (Xinhua) -- A light aircraft carrying tourists crashed on Monday during a take-off at the Ol Kiombo Airstrip in Kenya's Maasai Mara National Reserve.

The Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) confirmed by phone that all passengers and crew survived without injuries.

A tyre burst during take-off, causing the aircraft to veer off the runway, said the KWS.

Photos from the scene show uniformed personnel and bystanders rushing toward the damaged aircraft to assist.

This accident follows a similar emergency landing of a skydiving plane last month in Diani, located in coastal Kenya.

These consecutive events have prompted official investigations into local aviation safety standards.
