Urgent: Fire razes down school in western Kenya, killing 10

GILGIL, Kenya, May 28 (Xinhua) -- At least 10 students died and several others are injured after an overnight dormitory fire early Thursday at Utumishi Girls Academy in Nakuru County, northwest of the Kenyan capital, Nairobi, the police confirmed.

Rift Valley Regional Police Commander Samuel Ndanyi said that the inferno broke out around 1:00 a.m. (2200 GMT) in a girls' dormitory, destroying property of unknown value.
