ABIDJAN, May 11 (Xinhua) -- President Alassane Ouattara has decided to open an embassy in Kenya as Cote d'Ivoire and Kenya move to strengthen bilateral cooperation, according to a statement issued Sunday by the Ivorian presidency.

The decision was announced during a meeting between Ouattara and Kenyan President William Ruto on the sidelines of the Africa Forward Summit in Nairobi, the Kenyan capital. The summit brought together more than 30 African leaders and French President Emmanuel Macron.

During the talks, Ouattara and Ruto discussed bilateral relations as well as challenges related to financing Africa's development, including domestic resource mobilization, sustainable financing mechanisms and the industrialization of the continent.

The two leaders also explored prospects for expanding economic and trade exchanges between Cote d'Ivoire and Kenya, in addition to the finalization of a framework cooperation agreement between the two countries.
